Enhancements Tab Missing in Realtek HD Audio? This is what my Speaker Properties window looks like:I have, however, seen screenshots from other people who have the tab in their window. If the Enhancements tab is not compatible with this audio and the sound card being Realtek HD Audio. Here is a link to update the driver. Select my speakers from the playback tab. Click properties. At this point, there should be an enhancements tab at the top which contains the setting for Virtual Surround, it should look like this: However, there is none, and the only related tab is one called 'Sound Blaster' which contains a checkbox called 'Disable Enhancements'.

Hi,I have check on a Windows 10 computer and was able to see and work with the sound enhancements. If you are not able to see the same then it could be because the sound card installed on the computer do not have the ability for displaying sound enhancements or the sound card drivers are corrupt.Step 1:You may try uninstalling and re-installing the sound card drivers from device manager anda. Type inDevice Manager in the Start Screen. Select the same.b. ExpandSound, Video and Game Controllers in the Device Manager Window.c. Right click onthe Device.d. Click onProperties.e.

Click onDriver Tab.f. Click onUninstall drivers.g. ClickOK.Now restart the computer and install the latest drivers and check if the issue still persists.Step 2:If the issue still persists, reinstall the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website and check. What is the make and model of the sound card or the laptop? Please get back with the issue status.

I have the same problem!I am using the Lenovo Thinkpad T430.After upgrading from windows 7 to windows 10, the sound enhancements tab is gone! The main problem is that this option is not working fine on Windows 10 so it has been removed automatically. The only way to have the sound enhancements back is removing the updated sound driver and install the old one from the Lenovo hompage. However, the sound enhancements will work for a short time only. Then the windows will automatically disable it and update the new sound driver.Without sound enhancements, the sound is terrible as it has no bass boot option. Now, I am still waiting for a new sound driver update from Lenovo (the newest one which is compatible with my laptop on their homepage was released from 2013!):(. After further investigation it turns out that I have a set of beats audio speakers installed on my hp laptop. The software, beatsaudio, governs the audio and recording experience. There is a tab inthere connecting to the Microsoft settings.

That's probably why the Enhancements tab is not visible on my laptop at least. I bet that this is the case for many others who have Windows 10 installed on their hardware, and yet there is another software connectedto the speakers that 'removes' the enhancements tab. What speakers do you have? This audio software can be accessed, for me, via the arrow up tab in the bottom right hand corner of my screen, to the left of the power icon. Manipulating the settings in thatsoftware increased the volume for me WITHOUT the enhancements tab or having to uninstall any drivers.

MSI B450 Gaming Plus with Realtek ALC892Windows 10 x64 LTSC 1809 (has no Store)I know MSI uses the third party, bloatware, garbage known as Nahimic, but is there any way for me to have the default Realtek features (Enhancements Loudness equalization, etc.) without installing that nonsense, like on every other motherboard I have ever owned until now? Why on earth would I want to install some buggy bloatware to control features that are/should be already included by default in the Realtek driver, but are apparently disabled on MSI boards? If there is any way to get the full features back without installing Nahimic, I would sure like to hear about it. I have.the generic Realtek FF00 package. From many driver versions. I can only assume they see the MSI hardware ID and disable the default controls expecting Nahimic to be installed.

One of the older versions, 6.0.1.8228 from Windows Update Catalog, actually worked for a few hours, then after a while the control panel stops working completely and produces an error in event viewer when I attempt to launch it.This is what I get with 6.0.1.8228, until it just stops working. I'm wondering what is different in this driver vs the newer ones that I can not get this default, but fully functional Realtek control panel. Thanks for that, but all I see is 6.0.1.8581 UAD version and HDA version (my first screen shot). Both of those are 'dependent' on Nahimic as far as I can tell. Correct, any new(ish) driver gives me the MSI skinned control panel, but no effects (non-functioning launch Nahimic button) and no Enhancements tab in the Windows sound panel.

Yes, I always uninstall and clean out the old version pretty well before installing the new one. They leave a whole lot of junk in the registry.I've been trying out the old 129.1 MB version from August 2017 again and it has been working for 2 days now. Maybe it stopped working before because of something else, like my USB headset (virtual 7.1 junk) drivers or something conflicting. I have blocked Windows update from force installing those, and just run the default driver for the headset, and so far the Realtek 8228 set is working again.Still, I'd like to be able to update to a newer version, if anyone knows how to get the fully functional CP out of them, I'd love to know the trick. The 6.0.1.8612 set sound really good.

I put in a ticket about it, and MSI told me to install the UAD version from the support page and then get the Realtek Control Panel from Windows Store, which I suspect would be just as broken as the HDA version, but I cannot do that anyway since LTSC has no Windows Store.
